Poor services need to be solved by management

Regarding poor services, it was not busy but I took almost four hours to get help. I went there around 11:20pm i was assisted 3:00am. I took my spouse to sangweni clinic she had a headache, while she was busy doing a file she told them she has a headache and she is dizzy, asking for a chair. they told her no, wait until we finish with your file, she fainted and they took her to emergency room. When they check her they told her everything fine, she is not sick and gave medication and they call me. First question I was asked what happened to her??she doesn't want to talk. I told them she look dehydrated and unsteadiness maybe if you can give her some like pain block or panado she will be stable and able to talk, but from my knowledge she said headache. They told me that they already gave her something. Second question are you abusive?? I said no. I therefore ask for a referral letter if she can see one of a specific profession. They said no she doesn't want to tells us what's her problem. I then ask my spouse to call me when they are done. They said no don't go wait at the waiting area we are still monitoring her situation. I asked if I can also get help with my eye is painful. They said for now we still focusing on her we will attend to you after. while I was waiting a lady came in with child and opened a file. I decided to open a file too. The lady who work at the reception asked the female nurse that is he the one who beat up her wife. I was so surprised and be judge for something that i don't know who told them that i am abusive. After 15 to 20 minutes the lady who came after me she was done, i didn't mind because she brought her little daughter. I was next person to go through. they took another second person who also came after me. I aske how does there queue is system works, they check my ticket and i was not answered about queue system. they just ask me what is your problem. I told them I have an eye problem. the male nurse told me your problem is not emergency actually go to queue at patient waiting area. I went there, even that side i was the next person hencei i have mentioned that it was not busy. When the male nurse was done with the patient, he went out without telling anything. I decided to wait not to provoke anyone coz I needed medication. He came back within one minute and ask me why are you seating this side, i told him that I was referred this side to get help. He kept on asking me who?? We than went back to emergency room were everyone get help. I told the the male nurse who took me there that they are sending me back here, there is queue that side. He said it fine I will attend to you. go back to the queue. I went back, confused while they are busy assisting second person who came after me. only word i heard is let him be angry i don't care. I waited 10 to 15 minutes. the same person who said he does care took another third person came after me. I am not sure if he was proofing a point that he is in charge to treat me the way he did. The very same male nurse who took me back to emergency room, attended me after 30 to 45 minutes. To Sangweni clinic management please address our issue to your staff. this is unprofessional and mistreating of patients and unacceptable. We can't tolerate to wait for an hour after they are done with a patient, they be on their phones. Thank you in advance.

Unprofessional Treatment by Antenatal Care Nurses at Sangweni Clinic, Tembisa

I attended the clinic on 27 February 2026 at approximately 08:00 for my first antenatal care (ANC) visit. Unfortunately, my experience was unprofessional and distressing. During the group introduction session, nurses laughed after I answered their question and commented that I “talk too much.” The tone used toward me was dismissive and disrespectful. Throughout the visit, the patient numbering system was not followed, and I was skipped multiple times without clear explanation. Communication was also challenging, as they use their home language even after you mentioned you don’t fully understand their language. Later, after I raised concerns about how I was being treated, the matter escalated to the shift leader. The nurses then refused to continue assisting me and stated they would no longer help me. The shift leaders informed me that these are the only nurses assigned to ANC and that I should remain humble regardless of how I am spoken to. This made me feel unsafe and unsupported. Antenatal care is a sensitive and very important service, and patients deserve respectful communication, fairness, and professional treatment at all times. I hope management addresses staff conduct and patient care standards to prevent similar experiences in the future.
