TRAFFIC OFFICER TERRORISE KRUGER VISITOR

On 21 October while looking at a leopard in a tree next to the road a traffic officer, David Botha, started shouting at me that I am blocking the traffic. There were 20 to 30 cars in a jam in front of the tree and no one wanted to pass. I told him no one wants to pass and I could not move because of cars behind, in front as well as on both sides were trying to have a view of the leopard. I told him there is no way of block.ing traffic that don't want to move. He shouted at me to move forward. When I moved forward and on to the shoulder of the road but could still see the leopard, I took some photos. This traffic officer came after me again and ordered me to move forward again and said, because of my attitude, not because of the offence, he gives me a fine of R500.00!

We visit the Kruger Park two to three times every year from 1965 and never was treated so badly.

I would like Sanparks to cancel the fine and reprimand this young man not to treat customers of the Park in this kind of way
