Sanparks on the slippery slope

I was shocked to see the state of most accommodation in the Kruger Park. One would expect a little better than that for such a popular international destination as it is worse than any of the other Sanparks. It is also evident that the quality of maintenance has fallen flat for the most part. This is also the case in other Sanparks to which I am a regular visitor. I've seen a definite degradation in the parks over all in the last couple of years. Even the staff at these parks are sometimes poor choices for the type of work they are appointed for. I guess that will follow the same route as the government run SOE's in SA. Another thing is maintenance of the roads and trails. I've had to turn back recently in the Karoo National Park on one of the 4X4 trails due to the bush have taken over the road. I know it's supposed to be a rugged experience driving on them, but I'm not going to damage my vehicle's paintwork driving through the thorn bushes of an unkept trail. In the Mountain Zebra Park, my cottage had not been cleaned and ready at 14:00 as promised, so I had to wait and was eventually given another unit - also with a few broken devices that had to be exchanged and the unit's power kept tripping. Somebody has to take charge of the situation especially in the Kruger. It is really depressing sleeping in some of these Rest camps. I have had a very poor experience twice in 2022 at the very popular Lower-Sabie rest camp in particular as the huts/bungalows were very sp****ly equipped, cramped and really drab-looking.
