Sanparks not adhering to their Cancellation Policy

I am part of group of 12 people who booked and paid to walk The Otter Trail on 31st July, which is exactly 99 Days away from now.

We unfortunately had to cancel our booking due to various reasons impacting our group; Immigration, Pregnancy, Financial implications, etc. After finding the following FAQ page on Sanpark's webpage, it was clear that we will not incur a cancellation fee: https://www.sanparks.org/about/covid-19.php

(Tour Operators and Group bookings – 10 units and more: - 61 days and more before arrival date – full refund - no cancellation fees - 60 to 46 days before arrival date - refund of itinerary value less 50% cancellation fee - 45 days before arrival date to arrival date – 100% of itinerary value charged as cancellation fee)

However, upon cancellation, we were informed via email that we will receive roughly 50% of our R16 000 booking back, without any explanation whatsoever.

I have rep****, requesting Sanparks to abide by their own policy and refund us what we are owed.

It's safe to say that I will not book a significant holiday with Sanparks again, as unforeseen reasons for cancellation, even when a 100 days in advance, could potentially cost you thousands of Rands, and in a Covid world, there's a lot of unforeseen events.
