Sanparks asleep?

Sanparks recently sent round a message that their parks would be open with free entry for about a week. So during this period we elected to drive to the penguin colony at Boulders in Simonstown which is part of the Table Mountain Nat. Park and of Sanparks. On getting there we are told by the staff at both entrances that this week of free entry does not apply to Boulders. Why they could or would not say. Having been at Silvermine Reserve earlier in the day, which is also part of the Table Mountain NP and therefore Sanparks, where they confirmed our free entry we were both mystified as to why Boulders was not included as part of this promotion and very annoyed by wasting fuel, time and money on a pointless trip. To add insult to injury when trying to phone anyone at Sanparks in Cape Town or their HQ in Pretoria no one would answer the phone. A classic example, as if one needed yet another, of the current levels of bureaucratic incompetence that is so prevalent in this country nowadays. We will not now be revalidating our Wild Card, but prefer to spend our hard earned money and time with other organizations with a greater understanding of client support.
