Private event at Buffels Bay

i have been frequenting Cape Point nature reserve for relaxed expeditions and a lot of great surfing for the last 8 years and i was more than disappointed and angry about what happened this morning, Buffels bay has a wave that only breaks a couple times a year, today potentially being one of them. i arrived early at the gate to find a notice saying that the Buffels picnic site was closed for a function today, i thought it should be fine i could just park at the slipway and paddle across, to not disrupt the function, and to my surprise i was met at the turnoff by a TMNP ranger telling me that i would not be allowed to even get to the slip so i could paddle across, he got extremely rude and dismissive with me and told me to ****** off because it was a private function, now what i want to know why was there no notice put on the ANY of the TMNP social media or a bulk sms sent through to all wildcard holders advising of the private event which would have buffels closed for the day, so i wasted nearly half a tank of fuel, half of my day AND an entry on my Greencard to be told to ****** off? come on guys, get with the program. i will be awaiting a reply on FB or [Email Removed]
