Extremely bad (actually no) service at Skukuza

Going to the Kruger in July, I am trying to request a specific unit number for our stay. Berg en dal & Crocodile bridge very helpful, 2min and it was sorted, thanks to them.

Now, Skukuza! I called all 4 the (reservations) numbers on your website, about 39 times, never any answer. First 2 numbers say that it does not exist, other 2 say the mailbox is full and cannot take my call. Tried the reception numbers, by some miracle a lady answered the phone, she told me for any unit requests I need to call central reservations, she gave me the nr, I called it, they told me to call the camp's reservations number, I did, another 19 times, same result.

I called/emailed the duty manager Akani, with 4 preferred units, any one of which would be fine, he rep**** 3 days later, saying that the unit nr has been allocated, but when I asked which one, his reply \Unfortunately we don't give specific unit numbers in advance but we will allocate any of the units requested""

Hello MadNN,

Thank you for your feedback regarding your experience during your visit to Kruger National Park. We take all service related issues very seriously and do everything to ensure that all matters raised are immediately addressed . We appreciate your allowing us an opportunity to rectify the mentioned issues.

We deeply regret the frustration you went through trying to contact Skukuza Camp. We are currently experiencing challenges with our new phone system as it transfers a call straight to voicemail when an officer is on the phone. This issue is being addressed with the service provider. We will ensure that all guests who leave voice messages are called back.

All the front office staff members including the current Intern knows the process of handling special requests are aware that all the special request for unit allocations are addressed at the camp by the Front Office Manager, Duty Managers and the Hospitality Services Manager. It was an oversight which we will ensure not to repeat in future. Akani, was disciplined according to our code of conduct.

We are happy to inform you that unit no: 8 has been allocated to you

Thanking you kindly for your patronage
