Money making scheme company

since i was an employee of Eskom in 2005 i took this insurance for my family and extended family and in 2012 i resigned from the organization however i continued with the insurance an my premiums since, this take this policy/insurance to be 15 years in this 2020 year, in 2008 i added my aunt on this funeral policy which is 12 years since i added her, she passed on in the month of December due to COVID-19, when i called for claim forms i was told my policy lapsed in November due to 2 months premiums i missed, i have never received any communication with regards to this nor notification. i remember in the year 2019 there were months that i was ahead ( paid my premiums in advance) of my premiums for this policy , but when i missed 2 months payment i was advised that my funeral policy of 15 years has lapsed at the time we are all going through difficult times. i am self employed business has not been doing well since the national lockdown.

i could not have a dignified sendoff for my aunt given the meaner in which she passed on, i really feel all insurance companies are just a money making scheme , all my premiums for 15 years i have lost them versus 2 months premiums? this is a day light *******.
