Use of personal information for debt tracking

Today I received a sms on my personal cell phone notifying me that my husband must contact VVM regarding an urgent legal matter. I was asked to convey the message to him. Upon calling them I established that my personal information was used to track my husband for an outstanding SABC license by VVM.<br> Needless to say I was furious, reason being that my husband contacted the SABC licensing department notifying them in March 2011 that we are moving to New Zealand and that they must cancel the TV license, which we were assured was done.<br> We returned to South Africa and I took a TV license out on my name which has been paid every time I received the account.<br> I was told that I should provide evidence of the cancelation - I am confused is that not why the SABC record all calls - why should I waste my time providing proof if someone clearly didn't do their job,<br> Further more the abuse of personal information to do debt collecting on an account which is not mine goes against the POPI Legislation and I am sure a fine in this regard is huge for both the SABC and VVM.<br> I really hope someone from the SABC read this post and realize the seriousness of this matter as I am not willing to let this be
