Unhappy over cancelled TV lisence.

I bought I TV 2013/14 (so long ago I can not remember). 3 months after I bought it I sold it to my father after I got devorced, and were in financial difficulty. Ever since I do not own a TV set.

That same year I informed SABC that I sold my TV. The next year I got I reminder to pay my account. Once again I informed them that I do not own a TV anymore. I were informed that I did not cancelled me TV lisence correctly and that they need a affidavit from my father stating that he brought over me TV and also need a confirmation that he have a valid TV license. So we went to the police for the statement/ affidavit and made a copy of my Father's TV license. And sent it to the sabc.

Next 3 years I never got a reminder to pay my license and I accepted that my cancelation were processed. All off a sudden this year I get a reminder to pay R1800+ and that they have given me over to VVM already. How is this possible? Surely I did everything as they requested me to do. I would like SABC to urgently see that this matter is corrected. I am a law obiding citizen and do not like to be held responsible for this.
