TV license settlement nightmare

In November 2023 I was offered a discount on my TV license by Nu debt management. I paid that amount of just over R500 as per their quote. Between last year December and the is year March or April I started getting messages that my account was handed over to Nudebt management for a collection of over R800 on my TV license. Which was a surprise to me because if I am not mistaken the TV license is around R280 per year.

I then got a call for the Nudebt management around the end of April unfortunately we couldn't finish the call because we got cut. All of a sudden I received a message saying my name will be send to credit bureau for tracing. I then called on the 30th of April and asked what was happening. I also asked for explanation as to how did we get to the amount the were talking about. I was then told that after I made the payment the account was not rehabilitated, but since that was the case, I was told to pay around R300 and I explained that I don't have the money since I am unemployed. Nonhlakanipho then said to me can't I make a plan and I said I can only make a plan to make the payment on the 15th of May. She than said that beaause it will be in the next month there will be penalties that I will have to pay and the amount will be R424 and some few cents. I then said that is fine. On the 15th I made the payment and after I made the payment I called Nudebt and told them of my payment and they must go ahead with rehabilitation of the account. I was then told that they can see the payment and I must wait for 14 days for the rehabilitation to be done. Last week I started gettine messages and calls that I must pay the balance of R477. When I ask how is that possible, I am now told I must pay R79 because they made a mistake I was supposed to pay just over R500.

This is really tiring, irritating, annoying and makes me wonder if these people can be trusted because they always change their story.
