THUMBS DOWN TO SABC TV LICENCE

I cancelled licence in 2005 when I sold my house. It the time the TV was at a storage and was an old model television. I remember they asked for proof of storage which I sent letter from the storage company at the time. Between 2005 and 2015 I was living in people's house as I was building a house and had financial challenges. Sometime in 2015/2016 I got an sms demanding that I pay for licence. I notified them that I did not own a TV in my name and the one I am using currently is under my son's name and he is paying licence. I then received an affidavit from them to complete and have it signed at the police station in order for them to cancel the debt I did that and even forwarded the licence number for the address of my house so they can see that the licence is paid. Instead now they are demanding that I pay more than R6500 before they can cancel the debt. The consultant I spoke to identified herself as Palesa. She demanded that I send them proof that I cancelled the licence I informed her that the law allows me to discard records after 2 years, SABC cannot come to me after 13 years and expect me to furnish proof especially that I never got any letters of demand she insisted that they have that proof. I asked her to send me proof of letters of demand since 2005 as she alleges that SABC have record of that, to date I am still waiting and they are charging me every month for a television that I do not own even though they have proof that TV licence that my son is paying is registered under my address which I can proof that it is my house I am living there, they say irrespective of where I live i am responsible for TV licence of my previous house that i sold only because they didn't do their work by cancelling the licence. I am sure that even the house they are billing me for has a licence registered under that address.
