SABC TV LICENSE
Today I went and bought a TV the salesperson asked for my ID so that he could check on my TV license. I Told him that it's a debit order of R28 every month. When he punched in my ID to check if my TV license was up to date, it showed that I was R140 in arrears, I asked him how is this possible as it's a monthly debit order and even showed him on my banking app that every month there's a debit. He phoned sabc TV license and they said that my debit order had not been debited yet and that I would need to pay the R28, however he explained on their system it shows R140 not R28. I was fuming with anger as why do we have debit orders if the sabc TV license section does not have the same information as the retailer. Another customer heard how angry I was and she said she had had the same experience and was also told to pay even though hers was also a debit order. To cut a long story short. I could not buy the TV until I had paid the R140. With so much anger I paid the R140 as I needed the TV. So my question is why did I pay the R140 if my debit order gets deducted every month. SABC tv license is useless. My rating for them would be a big fat ZERO
