SABC TV LICENCE COMPLAINT
Good day <br> <br> My tragedy with SABC began in 2008 while I was a student at UJ staying at The Yard with a fellow mate and friend .One of the days I stepped out and she remained in the flat , two guys from SABC came in requesting for a TV Licence ,however I do not own a licence.The TV set present at that time was borrowed to me by my brother, they requested for my ID , she provided my ID to them.<br> Years later I started receiving calls about my licence fee , numerous of times I confirmed that the TV set belongs to my brother and I have never signed up or purchased a TV licence in my life .<br> Because they had my ID number automatically it was linked to a licence , which I do not have a number for or a card as proof . My final call to SABC was 27/02/2015 I spoke to a agent whom confirmed that actually that licence was signed up for me on that very day when the guys came into my place and found an un-licenced TV ,but how do they know it was not licenced under my brothers name ?<br> I am now sitting with a debt because of a borrowed TV that I was not aware has no licence , a debt that no one even alerted me of any possession of a licence until years later when the bill had escalated.now they wa

Broadcasting Act no 4 of 1999 as amended and the Regulations under this Act cleary states that...\Any person who uses and or who is in possession of a television must have a valid TV licence.\"
