SABC tv licence

<p>So I haven't had a tv license since about 2008 - because I haven't had a tv since then. I remember it was huge mission to cancel and I had to get an affadavit from the police station in order to do so. I have had no correspondence with them since then, until a few months ago when they started sending me smses telling me my license was overdue. I eventually phoned them this afternoon and they informed me that the license was never cancelled on their end and I owe them a huge amount of money. This is absolutely ridiculous and untrue. They told me I will now need to go and get another affadavit from the police station and go through this whole rigmarole again! I had a baby 2 weeks ago and don't have the time for this. Don't see why I should have to repeat this admin nightmare which is as a result of their own inefficiency.</p>
