SABC refuse TV Licence Cancellation
Im trying for years now to cancel my TV licence. I am communicating continuously to SABC that I have a plasma monitor without any broadcast receiving capability and it is only connected to a DVD player (no receiver and not vcr). I dont have a dish or tv arial installed. I also have sent an affidavit as required by the Act to cancel the licence and invited them to inspect my property. I threw away my old tube television set years ago.

SABC continues to either ignore my notices, or keep me continuously busy with paperwork, telephone calls and emails while I must pay year after year licence fees that they are not entitled to. Now the SABC notified me to disable my receiving equipment (denature) at my own expense whereafter I should pay them R300 to make sure that the denaturing has been done. How difficult is it to understand that my monitor does not have receiving equipment and it is impossible to remove receiving equipment that it never had?
My monitor is like a computer monitor and I should have never told them about it because it is no business of them as it does not require a licence.
SABC is blatantly misusing its powers and is ******ing money from me.
