SABC licence taking advantage of pensioner

I recently received an sms stating that I owe an amount of R3071.50 on my tv licence. The ridiculous amount is because I have been paying the pensioners licence fee (plf) since 2008 but never informed the Sabc that I am a pensioner.<br> I have always been paying my tv licence at the post office (PO). On 1 April 2006 I went on pension, for 2006 and 2007 I payed as a normal user without requesting plf. In 2008 the people at the PO inquired into my status and billed me on the plf. From 2008 onwards they always quoted the plf when I went to pay. In 2014 I have lost my licence number and all the receipts I kept have gone blank. I still went to settle my account at the PO but they wouldn't help me without me providing my licence number.<br> The situation is unfair and sabc is taking advantage of a pensioner. I am not to blame for the Sabc's incompetency to manage their accounts. The issue is between the Sabc and PO, who gave me the wrong information and accepted my payments for nine years. The only amount I am accountable for is from 2014 but it is unacceptable that the sabc pay-point (PO) couldn't assist me to get my account number after I informed them that I lost it.
