SABC harassment over cancelled TV licence has to stop!!

I emigrated to the UK in April 2017 and informed the SABC. Unfortunately, I do not have proof of this email any longer due to my email account being hacked.

On my return to South Africa in April 2018 I received a demand for payment from the SABC debt collection company. NuDebt. I contacted them and emailed them sufficient proof (airline ticket, proof of residence, proof of employment etc) that I had been living outside South Africa for the past year. I then received confirmation from them that they had closed their file based on sufficient proof provided by myself and that they had handed the matter back to the SABC. This was roughly a month ago.

Again then today I receive a text message from the SABC to say that I have now been handed over to another debt collection company, MBD. Really! Have they even bothered to look at the documentation supp**** to them or am I going to have to spend the next 2 years having to supply each new collection agency they appoint with the same documentation over and over again until this matter finally prescribes and they no longer have a claim against me!!

I am exceptionally frustrated. I don't have a TV and the supposed debt due isn't due. Anyone know if there is an body/ombudsman that oversees the SABC so I can lodge a formal complaint? Maybe this will stop the harassment once and for all?!

My TV licence number is ********** 65.
