SABC and REVCO demanding money 14 YEARS later!

I cancelled my TV license in 2007 and now SABC has handed me over to Revco for collection of R6000 odd and Revco is stating I never cancelled my license and that I recently contacted SABC to cancel said license. I responded to a Revco email stating I owed monies to SABC for the TV license and now they are claiming I made contact in order to cancel. Revco only made contact this year regarding the license I cancelled in 2007 and apparently SABC no longer has any record of this. Revco is now DEMANDING I give them proof that I cancelled the damn TV license 14 YEARS ago. Who the hell keeps documents for 14 YEARS?!!!!!. SABC need to sort this out. 14 YEARS later they want money for something I cancelled in 2007 and are demanding money. I do not owe SABC anything and I am pretty sure the Prescription Act comes into play somewhere along these lines.
