Paid but not credited.

I paid my licence online in the third of May this year. This is how I have paid every previous year. For some reason, one digit was removed from the reference number, I don't know how this could have happened, but it did. I kept receiving SMSs saying that I hadn't paid. I telephoned them and pointed out missing digit and sent them the attached proofs of payment. They then asked for the bank account number that the funds were paid into. I said that I could not supply this as 'SABC TV Licence Electronic Payments' was listed on my banking website as a public recipient and as such did not divulge the bank account number. They then said I should ask my bank for the account number. I called my bank and they informed me that they could give me no more information than what I already had. I told them this in one of our many telephone conversations.

During my last chat with them, the attachments were now deemed to be unlegible. Strange how people I had communicated with previously were able to read them!

They still maintain that my TV licence is unpaid and have now threatened legal action.

Please insist that they credit the money paid into their bank account to my TV licence and stop hassling me.
