Over due acc after 7-8year of not hearing anything
Good day, I'm witting this complaint today with a very heavy heart. I really think this matter could have been solved year ago. November 2015 and December 2015 I received a sms to say your tv is overdue please pay for the first time in 7 or 8+ years after I took out a tv license. This has been done on purpose so that they can make more money like penalties ect and I don't agree with this at all. Please look in to this. All needed affidavits has been send thru and still I get feedback saying I'm liable. I'm willing to pay for the time I had the Tv set as stated on the affidavit. If I was contacted or received a letter in the next year after I took out the tv license this would have been cancelled and paid up. Please assist.

The records on the account indicates that the SABC has communicated extensively with the licence holder since the inception of the TV-licence in December of 2008 with no response received back.
The SABC is governed by the Broadcasting Act no 4 of 1999 as amended and the Regulations under this Act which stipulates that...\A licence holder who no longer requires to be in possession of a television set must within 30 days of the expiry of their licence provide the Corporation with written notice on a prescribed form setting out the changed circumstances.\"
