Our mandatory TV licence is outdated. Abolish it.

Another annual grudge purchase: my TV Licence payment reminder arrived today by email. I haven't watched SABC TV for more than 7 years. As such, I resent having to pay a licence fee for a service I don't use - just because I have a TV. It's used for playing DVDs and Xbox gaming by the kids.<br> <br> Yes Rudy Swartz (Audience Liason Officer), I know it's the law. But the law was made at a time when everyone who had a TV watched SABC. That's no longer true. SABC, please rely instead on advertising and have this ridiculous, anachronistic law repealed.
