Letter of demand despite cancelling account (***)

We went through the arduous process of cancelling our TV licence. After a torturous experience, we finaly received confirmation of our cancellation through the post on the 19th of January, 2016. We were informed that the licence had been cancelled and the account had beenclosed. At the time, we were fully paid up. I was thus surprised to receive a letter of demand saying that I owed R412.00. This is obviously impossible given that the account was closed. I phoned the call centre to be told that the account had not been closed. After all we went through, this is utterly unacceptable. The incompetence is mind boggling. I have sent proof of cancellation to your email, please cancel the account once and for all. I will be taking legal action if I receive one more demand for monies due, as this is tantamount to harassment.
