Ignored cancelation
My aunt sold her TV as well as her TV licence 5 years ago and she notified the sabc of this. In those 5years sabc had not contacted my aunt with regard to payment, come early January 2015 they required payment. I spoke on behalf of my aunt as she has a speech problem, they stated I can pay the full amount or an amount of R1152.22 which settles the arrears and I did. As requested by the call centre agent, i sent the proof of payment and a letter from my aunt stating she would like to cancel the TV license to [Email Removed] In April I received an SMS stating i need to pay the TV license account. I called the number and I was told i owe 28c, which indicates the cancelation was ignored! I asked why this was not told to me in January - the guy could not answer me. I spoke to a manager who told me I need to pay the 28c as soon as possible. He said he will sort it out for me and he will get back to me after i told him I already paid and sent a certified letter from my aunt to cancel the TV license. The manager did not call back! Today I received another SMS stating my aunt must pay an amount of R1642.78! What more does it take to cancel the TV license?
