Got Billed 20 Years After I left the country!

I left South Africa in 1994 and formally closed my account with no arrears. I became a USA citizen and lived in the USA for the next 20 years. In 2011 I joined a SA Company, obtained a TV license and paid all required bills. 4 Years later in 2015 I unexpectedly received a bill of R6337.40. I contacted the SABC helpline and spoke to Zanele. She then told me to provide her with a letter comfirming my employment in SA, a copy of my Passport ( I am now a USA citizen) and a copy of the bill. She assured me that the matter will be taken care of. I followed up on several occasions and was assured that the matter was resolved. I also never heard back from the SABC regarding the matter. Now, 1 year later I wanted to buy a new TV and checked on my SABC online account .They claim that I am I still in arrears with the same amount. Please can a competent person call me ASAP. I need this matter resolved urgently.
