Failure to cancel tv license

My dad tool out a tv license in mh name back in 2014. He payed it the last time in 2015. At the end of 2015 i got married my husband owned a tv license and a tv. My dad transferred the tv license to my moms name and a letter was sent to you to cancel my tv license as i was married and my husband already had a tv license. We did not see the point of both us paying for one tv. Now 5 years later i get a sms for the 1st time that ive been handed over for debt collection. This is unacceptable please contact me asasp as i refuse to pay for something when you are incompetemt and unable to do your job.
