Disgraceful Customer Service – SABC TV Licence & VVM Attorneys

We’ve been trying to cancel my elderly mother’s TV license for years. She no longer owns a television, and yet we’re being forced to go to a police station to get an affidavit just to “prove” she doesn’t have one.

This is not just inconvenient — it’s invasive, outdated, and outright disrespectful.

When we contacted Lerato from VVM Attorneys, the experience was shocking. She was rude, dismissive, and zero help. The attitude was “pay or else” — no effort to understand, no willingness to assist. Just cold threats and horrible service.

⚠️ SABC: Why are your systems designed to punish people for trying to cancel a service they are not using? This is harassment — not customer service.

We’re not refusing to pay for a TV license that’s due. We are simply saying there’s no TV, and you are making it impossible to close the account with dignity and sanity.

Sort yourselves out.
