Demand for non-existent account
I am the TV Licence holder. My account is up to date. Out of the blue my wife starts getting sms's \Reduce the balance on you TV licence account by paying R410 immediately. Call MBDCS ***) to confirm your balance". The message is in all CAPS and it is not addressed to anyone in particular and there is no reference number or account number. That was the full text. When I called them I was informed that there was no outstanding amount from me. They could not say whether there was an outstanding amount from my wife of 35 yrs and I've always paid the TV licence. They could not track my address or my wife's cell number. Do I wait for them to blacklist us?"""
