On the 26 january 2015 I called SABC TV license department regarding a cancellation of my TV licence, I advised the agent that the TV I bought from the furniture shop was repossessed in the same year, the agent then advised me I must do an affidavit confirming all that and if possible I must get a letter from the furniture shop confirming this.
I then sent an affidavit to SABC and explained that the furniture shop could not trace my records as my case is older than 5 years - I then called the SABC to do a follow up for my affidavit, the feedback was that my debt was reduced from R3200 to R1700 I mean what is the R1700 for because I did not know that I have to notify them that the TV was repossessed and I never owned a TV for the past 8 years - I feel like the case was not handled in a right manner. I want my TV license renewed and I will be happy to pay for their services going forward
