Cancelling licence
I spoke to Zukisani (of the TV licence call centre) on 24/04/2015. I have the phone call recorded. I explained that I had both my TV sets denatured according to the Broadcasting Act and they were no longer considered TV sets and there is lawfully no need for a licence for them. I have proof of the denaturing. He told me to send the proof to both fax and email. This was done on 25/05/2015. I heard nothing. On the 04/06/2015, I used the TV licence website contact form to enquire of the progress of cancelling my TV licence. ***. I heard nothing still. On the 29/06/2015, I used the TV licence website contact form to enquire AGAIN of the progress of cancelling my TV licence. ***. I heard nothing AGAIN. Today (07/07/2015) I have received an email to say my TV licence account is in arrears and I now owe the annual fee plus a penalty. This is ridiculous and what you're doing now is against the law. When and how is this going to get resolved properly, once and for all?
