Worst insurance I have experienced

I’m really disappointed in Sa under writer.From sept my vehicle cannot he fixed . Firstly I had to to go to ur repair centre which is not near me .secondly I was then told that pirate parts will be used as my car is old and this was never advised to me when signing the policy .thirdly I’m waiting almost 4 months now and my car cannot be fixed because they cannot get stock of the pirate parts they want to use .is this my fault that they cannot get the parts.I have been more than patient for 4 months .I drive around with my car and continuously get pulled over by police due to the missing headlights . What kind of company am I dealing with that not once did you even send me a mail checking if the car has been repaired.is this the kind of service you provide your client .It’s really disappointing and the worst insurance company I have come across

Dear Akashni L  Thank you for your message.  We firstly would like to draw your attention to the policy wording, page 22, Section H(below) H. HOW WE MAY SETTLE YOUR CLAIM(INDEMNIFY YOU)As long as you have comp**** with the policy terms, we may:
  1. settle you directly
  2. replace or repair any lost or damaged item using a supplier or repairer of our choice;
 We strongly advise that you fami****ise yourself with the terms and conditions of your policy. Supply chain issues are affecting the entire motor industry and is unfortunately outside of the Repairer & the Insurer’s controlThe below should give you more insight into the matter A Short term Insurance policy is a policy is indemnity (ie. to place you back in the same position as you were prior to the loss). *Insurance is not designed to put you in a better position than you were prior to the loss. For example: if your vehicle is approximately 10 years and out of warranty, an Insurer would be within its rights to repair the vehicle with 10 year old parts.However we would not settle the claims in that manner. The assessors are only able to source alternative parts for this vehicle.
