We thank you for your message and we are sorry that you are unhappy with the terms your policy.
We have listened to the conversation you had with your Broker when the policy was accepted and we can confirm the following:
- The basic excess and all of the additional excesses were disclosed and explained in detail by your Broker.
- These excesses were agreed to and accepted by yourself. You chose the excess structure in exchange for a lower monthly premium.
- The Insurer will only become liable if the value of the claim exceeds the value of the total accumulative excess applicable.
We also confirm that the claim was not delayed, the Insurer reserves the right to fully validate a claim especially when the claim occurs within 6 months from the start of cover.(which was the case here)
An Excess is an undertaking that the Insured will be responsible for a certain amount of their loss in respect of every claim.
It is the portion of the claim that the Insured agrees and accepts as the amount they must pay for any valid claim.
A short term insurance policy is a contract and you are responsible for fami****ising yourself with the terms & conditions of the contract.
In light of this we are confident that the policy terms & conditions were correctly app**** to your claim.
Should you have any queries please feel free to contact your Broker directly
