Unsatisfacory service
Reference is made to the telephone conversation that I had with one of your consultants by the name of Sphesihle regarding my claim, claim No: CLM ********** 6593 and one of your Assessors by the name of Andre with regards to one of the parts of the that has been declined. I had an accident in August 2018 and to date one of the parts has not been fixed yet as As your assessor by the name Andre declined the part to be replaced. I had been furnished with so many different reasons as to why it was declined and further to that such reasons are not communicated to me. I had to be advised by the panel beater as to why it was declined. Initially it was stated that the part has been damaged as a consequential damage due to water damaged and later I was advised by Sphesihle that the report on their side suggests that it was a pre-existing damage. Firstly I would like to state that on the day of the incident it was raining and where the damage / impact was left the said controller not covered. Secondly when I pointed to the assessor that on the day of the incident it was raining which might have caused the controller to be damaged, the reason for the claim being declined changed citing that it did not appear in my initial statement or I did not mention in my statement that it was raining. When I drew the attention to the assessor to check my statement as it was mentioned, the claim was rejected again now stating the reason as it was not raining on that day. I’ve been back and forth with claim and it so unfair and unfortunate that I have been given so many reasons as to why the authorisation of this part has been declined. I find it unprofessional and unacceptable. Further to that I asked for proof contradict my statement that it was raining at the time of the impact to date I haven't received anything. Further to that I have pointed to the Insurance that I had to wait in the rain for +- 10min in the rain exchanging details with the other car and the fact that they did not want me to live until his father arrives in the scene. that on its own could have or potentially could have caused the part to be contaminated by water and be damaged due to water. I again on the 10th of October 2018 sent an email to their "claim advise department" which they only acknowledge my email and that they were still going to investigate 8 days later. to date my claim has not been finalised, and my car hire has expired. I would like to re-iterate that on the day it was raining and I had no reason to lie about since I did not know that there was going to be a part that was going to be declined due to water damage. Common sense and a reasonable person should prevail under such circumstances. I had no reason to lie about the weather. Further to that the Panel beater has advised me that they are going to start charging for a storage as the car would have been fixed long time ago. The injustice and unprofessionalism that e that has been shown to me make is beyond appalling. There is no member of management that you can speak to find the way forward. they are forever not available. I have requested to speak to a person with decision making powers and asked them to call me but to no avail. Yes the part could have been damaged by water, but what options did I have to avoid that to happen under the circumstances. and what I could have done to avoid the part from not being exposed to water since it was no longer covered. it was stated in my initial statement that it was raining...I had no reason to lie. I feel each time I come with a reasonable and plausible explanation, the goal post shifts. I feel this is unfair to me as I had no other alternatives under the circumstances.
