UNHAPPY WITH CLAIM TIME FRAME

I had a car accident in 17 April 2023. At the start of my claim 18 April 2023 the service was great, then the ball was dropped somewhere between claims consultant and Loss Department . I had rental car from 26 April . it was due and had to take back the car on the 25th May 2023. then I was left stranded while they were busy with the claim. I've spent over R3000 with Uber while I do follow up with them. Today it is the 19 June. I am still without a car and I had to find out this morning how far are they with the payment and if payment is done may I get POP. Only today I'm told the payment will take 72 working hours meaning I still need to use uber while their payment is clearing... I was really not impressed with the time frame and service. I was dealing with Michael Moaka the claims consultant.

Dear Lesego M

We acknowledge receipt of your message and are sorry that you are unhappy with the processing of your claim.
Rest assured that it was not the intention to delay the matter, unfortunately external factors influenced the process.
As a financial service provider SA Underwriting Agencies undertakes to settle all valid claims.
This means that a claim must be fully validated in order for the Insurer to reach a decision on the matter.
As part of the validation process the Insurer and Loss Adjusters requested certain information from the SAPS and certain service providers.
However, these external providers were not forthcoming with the requested information, and this has unfortunately delayed the process.
We can confirm that we have already requested the settlement to be paid.

Kind Regards

The SAU Team

Reviewer Update
Good Day

I received an almost immediate response from the Claims Team leader Kgotso Legodi. He apologized for the mess and inconvenience caused. Payment reflected the next morning.

Added to that, after I had requested compensation for the Uber costs involved as a form of the apology. I can safely say that I was reimbursed. I appreciate that they took responsibility for the stress caused and rectified.

I've even mentioned a suggestion on how they could better handle the issue of rental car during a claim so they don't find themselves in such a situation again. Lets hope something will be done in that department and they will improve on the time frames of handling claims. Outside factors or not.

Thank you Kgotso Legodi for handling the matter with care and priority.

Regards
