Spindoctor approach to claim.

When purchasing a new car in May 2014 I was offered insurance through the motor dealership. I declined as I had been insured with SAU since 2006 covering 2 previous vehicles.
Before taking delivery of the new car I phoned SAU and asked them to \transfer"the insurance from one car to another.A call centre agent arranged the deal for me.

I then damaged my car on the 31st of December 2014.I claimed and received a call to say that the claim had been approved. On querying the high excess as I had an excess reducing option I was told that I did not have it on this policy. A penalty app**** as no 3rd party was involved.
Also I would have to take the car to a panelbeater in Selby. I live in Little Falls and work in CIayville and asked if a panel beater nearer to me could be used as with my previous claim. This was refused.as they needed a Citroen approved panel beater. Citroen gave me the name of 2 close to my home.
I then enquired if the car rental option I previously had was still on the policy. To my horror I was informed that it was not.
With an existing policy in front of the agent I would question why I was offered an inferior product.A slip up that I am expected to pay for."""
