SA Underwriters short paid my claim

In 2023 I had an accident and SAU they wrote my car off ,without asking for my consent . They then short paid the claim , for reasons I dont know , because I was told that the cover is comprehensive when I took it . I also was never advised about Short fall cover,so I requested that they go over the call that I had with their agent, since they record the calls. They told me they dont have the Short call cover , suddenly the guy said they have it.He was supposed to go and retrive the voice recording of the agent that sold me the policy.he never came back to me with feedback . The short paid by over R50k,and I dont have the money to settle MFC, and I also dont understand why they dont settle the whole amount , if my policy is a Comprehensive cover . All Im requesting is they pay the outstanding balance to MFC , because the cover I had , they told me it covered everything

Dear Nozipho S

The policy you have with us is comprehensive cover, however comprehensive cover does not include credit shortfall cover.
Credit shortfall cover is a separate insurance that you must take out with the Bank or your Broker to cover the outstanding finance charges owed to the bank in the event of a total loss.

We confirm that you were offered credit shortfall cover by MFC and the Dealer when you signed your finance contracts.
You declined the shortfall cover with the dealer and MFC and therefore chose to be self-insured for the balance outstanding to the bank.

We confirm that we have settled the claim correctly and in line with the policy contract.

It remains your responsibility to ensure the risk is adequately insured.
Any outstanding finance charges owed to MFC are therefore for your own account.

Kind regards

The SAU team
