REJECTION OF CLAIM
I have a serious complaint against SAU,My claim number / reference is CLM***.<br> <br> I had an accident on 11 Jan 2014 and i was not driving the car due to the fact that my leg was injured, my claim to them the 1st one they rejected stating i have not paid my premiums and i told i have proof of their debit orders then said ok, they will re access my claim then get back to me, then they rejected it again on the basis of the driver who was my brother is not listed as the drivers in my Policy which is true but due to the fact that I can't drive and doctors has note was attached to my claim as my leg is still recovering and not able to drive but still the rejected my claim. I feel this is unfair and not right kindly assist me as i have been paying for my insurance and their deliverance towards me has been unfair and you can see they just wanted to not approved my claim from the beginning which is troubling me as well.
We have reviewed the rejection of the claim and found that at the time of the loss the vehicle had not been used for an emergency, which would be the only ground on which the insurer would review the decision to reject the claim in question.
An emergency is any situation that poses an immediate risk to one's health, life, property or environment and which would result in a loss if immediate action is not taken to avoid or mitigate the risk. Therefore in order for the incident to be considered an emergency, one's health, life or property ought to be at risk.
The driver at the time of the loss had confirmed that he had been travelling from the beach going back to your home. Therefore the vehicle had been used for recreational purposes instead of an emergency situation.
In light of the above the insurer is unfortunately not in a position to entertain the claim in question.
