Heartless
On the 1st of March my mom accidentally reversed the payment for her car insurance, bear in mind that my mom is 70 years old and not technologically knowledgable. Unfortunately on the 2nd of March she was involved in a car accident while driving. My mom then wrote an email asking SAU to debit their money on the 5th of March not knowing that they had already wrote a letter on the 4th of March saying they are cancelling the insurance because of stop payment. My question therefore is how is this fair to my mother has been paying her insurance every month since taking it and only this one time that he makes a mistake it costs her her car. Why is there a 15 day grace if its not gonna be used. This insurance is making an excuse of not paying someone who is a pensioner....how is she supposed to buy a new car at an pensioner's salary? My mom is still at the hospital from the accident injuries and SAU is making things worse how is she supposed to recover from this? I just feel that this is a heartless move.
As explained previously, we did not cancel the policy. Your mother cancelled it by reversing the premium.
Again, if any of our customers are unable to afford the premium or struggling to meet the premiums requirements, we encourage them to contact us to assist with premium arrangements.
Unfortunately there is no cover for the loss. Your mother may escalate the matter to the Insurer directly or other relevant body.
Kind Regards
The SAU Team
