Exploitation of old, sick & helpless citizen
Mr Sibanyoni joined Sa Underwriter in 2007 (8 years now), he went on pension in 2013 & Sa underwriter didn't bother contacting him 2 offer \senior citizens suitable packages"like not having 2 pay basic access"

Please note that we have been in direct contact with Mr Sibanyoni to resolve his claim and together with his broker will ensure he maintains suitable insurance cover. Mr Sibanyoni is a valued client not only for being of senior age but also for being a loyal, long standing client.
Regarding the various aspects of your complaint we are able to confirm that:
All bona fide pensioners are not liable for a basic excess with SAU. This is a standard product benefit from SAU.
We are compliant with the requirements of the FAIS Act and to ensure this we engage the services of an external independent compliance organization.
Mr Sibanyoni contacted us in February 2015 when he was transferred to a consultant to converse in a language other than English. A note was incorrectly made that Mr Sibanyoni requested to be assisted in Zulu which is why we spoke Zulu when he called us.
During May 2015 Mr Sibanyoni called us advising he is unable to afford his current premium, whereupon the consultant offered Mr Sibanyoni an alternative with a lower premium. All conversations can be made available to Mr Sibanyoni at his request.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
