Day light ******s

After I reported my accident to Alvin Williams who was handling my claim, the assessment was done after 3 days and the assessor called me and asked me about dents which were on the car.I told him that my car had no dents before the accident, maybe they were there as a result of that accident, when the car lost control after hitting a dip pothole n which led to a tyre burst n I lost control then it hit the road side tree.He never said anything about tyres during that call, soon after Alvin called n gave me a feedback, informing me that my car was a write off,n he got a settlement value from the car financer.A reference for a car hire was sent to me then after.I was covered for writeoff protector, but that was overlooked n declared it a write off,it means I paid for that benefit for nothing!after few days the same assessor called again to say my claim has been rejected due to my car being unroadworthy, suddenly my tyre's threads were below legal limit,n he mentioned some tyre brand which I never knew about,I know the tyre's that I buy for my car!,n I've never heard or seen the ones he mention. What made me suspicious is that he was boasting that he's got a proof!as a result I lost a car!!!

Hello Sbudacious ,

Your claim is rejected as the right front tyre of your vehicle is below the legal limit and therefore not roadworthy. Our policy wording excludes cover for any vehicle not roadworthy. Please be further advised your Write Off Protect policy gives you extra protection by allowing a higher level of damage before your vehicle is deemed uneconomical to repair. Unfortunately the damages to your vehicle exceeds the value of your vehicle 100%. Your vehicle's value is R59 534 and the repair cost amounts to R97 797.53, therefor the vehicle is uneconomical to repair and declared a write off.
Kind regards
SAU Team
