Cancelled Policy Debited

On 2 December 2015, I e-mailed Sibonisiwe Dhladhla a Refund Application Letter informing SA Underwriters that I never bought the vehicle I was planning to buy from Autopedigree and that I cancelled car insurance policy number SAU*** on 27 November 2015.

Even though I had received a cancellation notification my bank account was debited with two amounts: R147.82 and R870.91 on 2 December 2015. I e-mailed another Refund Application Letter on 05 January 2016 to [Email Removed]

I have called SAU call centre several times and e-mailed them as well but I still have not been refunded and there is no feedback at all. Why should I pay insurance for a car I never bought and for a policy that I cancelled? I request that my refund be processed as quickly as my debit order was processed.
Hello FortKhu,

Please accept our apologies for the delay in processing your refund.
We refer to the conversation you had with Sibonisiwe when she requested you to provide proof from the dealer that the deal was cancelled, which we still have not yet received.
The policy was cancelled upon your instructions but we will only be able to process the refund upon receipt of the necessary proof.
Kind regards
SAU Team
