BEWARE OF SANTAM / SAUNDERWRITERS

<p>I have the misfortune of being insured by Santam through SA Underwriters.</p> <p>I submitted a claim for accident damage and was requested to obtain quotations one quote was for R 15 969-13 and another for R 18 188-29. i submitted these to the insurance company - they approved my claim at R 11223-01 yet the spares cost R 13 188-29.</p> <p>SA Underwriters first said that the panelbeaters could use pirate spares which is absolutely ridiculous.</p> <p>They then said that the damage to the fog light is not covered as no damage is visible - the fog light misted up after the accident so it follows water had to have penetrated it somehow.</p> <p>Then they said that the scratches on the damaged bumper were old scratches - these scratches occured during the very same accident on the very same bumper that has to be replaced and repainted - when I took out this insurance I was told to present my vehicle for inspection at Glasfit.</p> <p>Glasfit inspected it there were no scratches it therefore follows that the scratcehes occured whilst I was insured with them!</p> <p>I told SAUnderwrtiters that I am going to refer this to the ombudsman - they actually cahllenged us to do so - in otherwords do not care?</p> <p>I</p> <p> </p>
