ACCIDENT COMPLAINT
I WAS INVOLVED IN A CAR ACCIDENT ON THE 25TH OF SEPTEMBER 2015. A LADY BUMPED INTO MY CAR WHICH WAS STATIONERY I REPORTED THE MATTER TO THE INSURANCE. THEY ADVISED ME TO SEND THE CAR TO SAFARI PANEL BEATERS AFTER THE INSPECTION WAS DONE. TO MY SURPRISE I WAS TOLD THAT THE TOW BAR WAS NOT PART OF THE INSURED. AND YET WHEN I BOUGHT IT, IT HAD A TOW BAR. I DID NOT PUT THE TOW BAR. WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR THE INSURANCE ASKED ME TO TAKE THE CAR TO ANY PG COMPANY TO HAVE IT ASSESSED AND I DID SEND THE INSPECTION FORM TO THE INSURANCE....AND THERE IS PROOF THAT THE TOW BAR WAS ON THE CAR. I HAVE SINCE PAID THE EXCESS AMOUNT THAT I WAS REQUIRED TO PAY WHICH WAS INVOICED ON THE 9TH OF NOVEMBER 2015. AS OF NOW I HAVEN'T HEARD ANYTHING FROM MY INSURANCE THERE IS NO COMMUNICATION AT ALL REGARDING WHAT IS GOING ON AND MY REPAYMENT OF THE EXCESS AMOUNT AS STATED IN THE POLICY. HOW AM I GOING TO CLAIM FOR THE TOW BAR SINCE THE PANEL BEATERS DID NOT PUT IT BACK. THE CAR HAS SINCE BEEN FIXED
We apologise for the delay in feedback. To have cover for the tow bar fitted, even though it was already fitted when you bought the vehicle, it has to be specified on your policy and you would have therefore paid an additional premium. Please refer to your policy schedule Page 24, Sound System and Accessories and more specifically point 2. We have instructed Arangies Inc. Attorneys to recover your excess as well as for the cost for the tow bar from the other party's insurer.
Kind regards
