RTT Service is Consistently Unreliable – From PAXI to Takealot Deliveries

I initially gave RTT the benefit of the doubt after a poor experience with a PAXI delivery, but after encountering similar issues again through a Takealot order, it is clear that this is not a once-off incident — it is a pattern.

With my PAXI parcel, a driver was assigned for collection but failed to arrive on time, resulting in multiple follow-ups just to get the parcel moving. The shipment then sat at the Durban warehouse with no urgency, despite clear delivery timelines.

More recently, with a Takealot order (#2067****3), I tracked the parcel independently and found that RTT logged a “delivery address not found” exception. This is despite the fact that:

The address provided is accurate and has been used successfully before No attempt was made to contact me No effort was made to request directions

This raises serious concerns about whether actual delivery attempts are being made before such statuses are recorded.

Another major issue is accessibility — it is practically impossible to reach RTT depots directly (for example, Mthatha). Customers are left completely in the dark, with no way to resolve delivery issues in real time.

At this point, it is evident that:

Delivery updates cannot always be trusted Communication with customers is lacking There is little accountability when things go wrong

This is not just poor service — it is a systemic issue that affects multiple retailers and delivery channels.

RTT needs to urgently address:

Accuracy of delivery attempt reporting Customer communication before logging exceptions Direct accessibility to depots handling parcels

Customers should not have to chase a logistics company or verify tracking information independently just to receive a basic service.

I would appreciate a response from RTT with a clear explanation and corrective action.

Dear Athenkosi

Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback with us. We sincerely apologise for the repeated inconvenience and frustration you have experienced with both your PAXI and Takealot deliveries.
Your concerns regarding delayed collections, lack of communication, and the “address not found” status being logged without any contact attempts are taken very seriously. This is certainly not the level of service we strive to provide, and we understand how disappointing this experience has been.
Please be assured that we are urgently investigating both incidents, including the handling of your parcel at the Durban warehouse and the delivery attempt logged on your recent order. We will also address the concerns raised around communication and depot accessibility with the relevant teams to ensure corrective action is taken.
One of our agents will be reaching out to you on *** for reassurance and to make the necessary delivery arrangements.
We truly value your feedback, as it helps us identify gaps and improve our service. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Kind Regards
CEC Department
