Refund acknowledged but not paid after cancellation

I engaged RPR Waterproofing in November 2025 for roof waterproofing services. A deposit of R20,650 was paid on 12 November 2025, and receipt was acknowledged in writing. A project start date of 27 November 2025 was confirmed.

The project start date was subsequently postponed multiple times, and despite follow-ups, no firm revised start date for early 2026 was confirmed.

During this period, an offer was received on the property, with the buyers accepting the house as is, including the leaking roof. Given the continued uncer*****y around a new start date, we contacted RPR Waterproofing, advised them of the offer, and requested cancellation of the project and a refund of the deposit.

On 23 January 2026, RPR Waterproofing acknowledged in writing that a full refund of R20,650 was due and undertook to make a payment of R10,000 on that day, with the balance to follow. To date, no payment has been received and no proof of payment has been provided, despite follow-ups and a final formal demand.

I am simply seeking payment of the refund already acknowledged as due and hope this matter can still be resolved promptly and professionally.
