Poor service from Royal tombstones, I purchased tombstone in March 2024, they informed us that it has 25 years guarantee. We noticed some defects around February this year(2026) and I reported it to their office in queenstown, no response received until I sent a query to their head office end of July 2026. They made promises to replace the tombstone by or end of August, such didn’t happen. In my culture, we must keep the grave and tombstone clean and neat, it is a sacred place

This company doesn't think their clients are important. They can't communicate and they make empty promises. They even contradict their own set conditions. I'll never recommend them even to my worse enemy.

Here is my horrific email I sent after they are now ghosting me I am writing to formally express my deep concern and disappointment regarding the tombstone that I paid for in full in April 2026, which was scheduled to be installed on 03 August 2026. Since making the final payment, I have visited your Bellville office on several occasions to follow up on the progress of my order and to seek confirmation that everything was on track for the agreed installation date. Unfortunately, I have been met with a complete lack of communication and professionalism. Since 03 August 2026, my calls have gone unanswered, and my WhatsApp messages have not been responded to. To make matters even more concerning, our previous WhatsApp conversation has disappeared. Thankfully, I still have all my payment confirmations and proof of payment saved in my email. At this point, I am extremely worried that I may have been ****med. This situation has caused my family and me unnecessary emotional distress during an already difficult time. I have already paid for catering, transport, and décor for the unveiling ceremony, all based on the understanding that the tombstone would be installed as agreed. Your failure to communicate or honour your commitment has placed me at risk of suffering significant financial losses, in addition to the emotional impact. I therefore demand an immediate explanation regarding the status of my tombstone and why there has been no communication from your company. I also request that someone contacts me directly before the close of business today to resolve this matter. Should I not receive a satisfactory response by the end of business today, I will have no alternative but to seek legal advice. I will also pursue all available legal remedies, including claiming a full refund of all monies paid, together with any additional costs and damages I have incurred as a result of your failure to fulfil your contractual obligations. I sincerely hope that legal action will not be necessary and that this matter can be resolved professionally and without further delay. I expect your urgent response. Yours faithfully,

Confirmation Message *Business Name:* ROYAL TOMBSTONES *Rating:* 1 out of 5 *Review:* I expected a good service from the company but got a shock of my life. I Ordered a tombstone only for it to be delivered at night without proper communications. The company failed to advise me on their challenges and they blame each other and mostly management for the challenges.

Anyone looking to erect a tombstone for their loved ones, please do not use Royal Tombstones. They have zero customer service, are unprofessional and rude. They also do nit communicate, you will be the one constantly making contact and they give dates they do not stick to. I have never met a company that is so unprofessional 🚮

Rating: 1 Star Royal Tombstones caused us trauma during my loved one's unveiling on 26 July 2026. TIMELINE OF FAILURES: 1. THURSDAY 23 JULY 2026(Initial Date of Installation): Zero communication. I called at 2PM and found out the picture that was supposed to be included on my tombstone order wasn’t ready. The installers then came late that evening to a rural area with no street lights, so work could not be done properly. 2. SATURDAY 26 JULY 2026 - UNVEILING DAY: We gave them the date weeks in advance. Promised installation at 09:00 after they had to deliver a good service on Thursday. The team only arrived at 14:15 and finished at 16:00. Our unveiling was at 12:00. I called 4 times, no answer. Sales consultant Bongiwe, who assisted me from day 1, is now ignoring all my calls and messages. 3. FAULTY PRODUCT: The tombstone pieces arrived with cracks and dents. The picture was completely left out. When I asked why the picture would only be installed on Tuesday 28 July, 2 days AFTER the unveiling, I was told to "work with what you have". An incomplete order. 4. THEY **** + TRIED TO FINE ME: Before leaving on Thursday night, their installers took photos and told head office "the grave wasn’t ready" as the reason they didn’t finish. This is a lie. They had already offloaded concrete, mixed cement, and tried to install the cracked pieces. I have photos. They were trying to blame me so they could charge me a R2000 "fine" to come back. 5. NO REFUND: I was promised a refund for the missing picture after I fought them on it. To date I have not received it. This day was meant to honour my loved one. Instead it was stressful, rushed, and disrespectful. People were tired and the happiness was gone by the time we unveiled at 16:00. I do NOT recommend Royal Tombstones.
