PUTRID SERVICE DELIVERY!!!
Good Day On the 03/02/2018 I was unfortunate to be in an accident. My vehicle has been with Ross Champion for repairs from the 03/02/2018, in Mount Edgecombe. My insurance approved the repairs and I was promised the repairs would not take longer than 30 days . To date My vehicle repairs have not been completed . After much deliberation with them I was given a courtesy vehicle on the 23/03/2018 as consolation, As they failed to keep to the timeframe for completing the repairs. I am now in a further position as I reside in Durban and need to take my family To jhb for A HOLIDAY THAT I HAVE BOOKED IN ADVANCE AND PAID FOR ALREADY and was advised I cannot use their courtesy vehicle to go out of Durban. Yet they have my vehicle For longer than what I was promised. I am now being held ransom by Ross champion . Having a courtesy vehicle but limited to their regulations , yet they do not keep to their promises. Had they completed the repairs within the time frame they gave I would not be in this situation. I am now lodging a complaint with the ombudsman .
Due to the fact that the site was running errors with registration, This complaint is posted on behalf of Winston Victor Munsamy - Vehicle Reg No: ND 150258 ( ********** 565)
Good day Sir
We would firstly like to state that advised vehicle repair times are never guaranteed and we make this very clear at the onset of the repairs. Due to the extensive nature of the repairs of your vehicle and the fact that the suspension was damaged we would like to explain the timeline of the repair.
Vehicle was towed in on the 03rd February 2018.
Official authorization received on 14 February 2018. Repairs or ordering of parts can only be done once authorization is received from the insurer.
Nature of damages required us to fix the suspension before anchoring vehicle for panel beating. Rear axle needed to be replaced and rear suspension needed to be sorted out as the vehicle was immovable. Rear sub-frame arrived ex-factory on the 22/02
Upon fitting the sub-frame, we identified that the fuel tank was extensively damaged as well. As per protocol, additional request submitted to insurer to authorize this part.. Also note additional body and mechanical damages were identified as well. Upon receiving the additional approval, the fuel tank was ordered and only received on the 07/03
Note, new sub-frame could not be fitted without new fuel tank. Effectively work started on this vehicle on 07/03
Once rear suspension was fitted, vehicle proceeded to the bench for panel beating. In terms of bodywork, the rear fender required replacement. This is major structural work and labour intensive. Bearing in mind that the actual work only commenced on the 7th, the nature of repair and the time frame taken is within the normal repair duration for damages such as these.
You requested a courtesy vehicle at the onset of the repairs. Courtesy vehicles are not unlimited and there are instances where there are waiting periods for an available vehicle. The courtesy vehicle loaned to you was not done out of consolation but to assist in keeping you on the road. Our standard procedure for all our fleet vehicles is to allow a maximum radius travelled from each branch, this was agreed by yourself when signing the loan agreement form.
I hope this provides some clarity on your review and hope you are satisfied upon delivery of your vehicle.
