Rosebank College System Failure, Administrative Negligence & No Resolution After a Full Year

Rosebank College System Failure, Administrative Negligence & No Resolution After a Full Year

Institution: Rosebank College Campus: Braamfontein Johannesburg Student Number: ST***8 Contact Email: ***

Rosebank College Has Failed Me Academically for a Full Year – No Resolution, No Accountability, No Feedback

I am writing this complaint publicly because I have been struggling with Rosebank College’s administrative and system failures since the beginning of the FIRST semester, and now that the year is ending, none of my issues have been resolved despite countless emails, campus visits, and promises from staff.

1️⃣ My Problems Started in First Semester and Continued All Year

At the start of the year, my modules were dropped from the system, supposedly because of unpaid fees. Fair enough — but even AFTER I settled the fees and the payment agreement issue was corrected, my academic access was never restored properly.

From semester 1 until now:

Modules disappeared from my Student Portal and ARC.

ARC access was unstable or unavailable.

Submission links were missing.

My marks were not captured.

Some lecturers could not mark my work because the module was not loaded.

I received “missed submission” emails for work I had already submitted.

I was repeatedly told “come next week”, “check again on Friday”, and “we are fixing it” — and nothing changed.

2️⃣ Missing Modules That Never Returned

For BUSA7311, I personally went to the 12th floor. Nokuthula or Nompumelelo assured me in person that:

My BUSA7311 mark had been corrected.

The issue was fully resolved.

I had nothing to worry about.

I trusted their word. However, NOW I am being told that I failed BUSA7311 — which means the correction was NEVER done, or the system never reflected the update.

3️⃣ HCIN6222 – No POE Submission Link Provided

For HCIN6222:

Only links for Part 1 and Part 2 were available.

The POE submission link was missing.

When I reported it, I was told to apply for a deferred submission — even though the problem was SYSTEM-RELATED, not my fault.

The deferred submission request was rejected.

So I am being penalised for Rosebank’s system failure.

4️⃣ ITRM7311 – Marked on ARC but Not Reflected on the Portal

I submitted Assignment 1 for ITRM7311 on ARC.

It was marked.

BUT the student portal shows nothing.

ICE tasks remain unmarked

Lecturers say they cannot mark because my module disappeared earlier in the year.

Again, not my fault — but I am being affected.

5️⃣ IRIT7331 – Submitted, but School Claims “Missed”

I submitted my work on ARC for this module as well. Yet I still receive emails saying I “missed submissions.”

This is extremely stressful, especially after months of system issues.

6️⃣ My Time, Money and Mental Health Were Affected

I live far from campus. I spent money travelling multiple times to the offices, only to be told:

“Come next week.”

“Come on Friday.”

“We are sorting it.”

“It will reflect soon.”

Nothing reflected.

Nothing was fixed.

I eventually stopped coming because I was wasting money for no results.

7️⃣ No Communication, No Follow-Up, No Accountability

I have repeatedly emailed the school. Most emails go unanswered. Phone calls are useless because nothing is recorded, and I cannot keep track of who says what.

To avoid miscommunication, I requested email-only communication, yet I still struggle to receive proper responses.

8️⃣ Now I Am Told I “Failed” Modules That the School Promised Were Fixed

The latest email says I failed two modules. This is wrong and deeply unfair.

These failures are a direct result of Rosebank College’s system problems and administrative negligence — NOT my academic performance.

I Am Now Questioning Whether I Should Take Legal Action

Rosebank has:

Failed to restore my modules after payments were cleared

Failed to fix system errors for nearly a year

Failed to capture my marks

Failed to provide submission links

Failed to give correct feedback

Failed to resolve issues despite repeated complaints

Failed to honour their own staff’s assurances

Failed to protect my academic record

At this point, I am left wondering:

Should I consider suing the institution for damages, inconvenience, financial loss, and academic prejudice?

What I Want:

Immediate correction of ALL my marks

Full verification of all modules from semester 1

A proper explanation from senior management

Proof of what is captured on the system

Accountability for the misinformation given by staff

Restoration of modules and marks that were affected by system issues

Conclusion

I have been patient for almost a full academic year. I have done everything I was supposed to do as a student. Yet I am being punished for system errors that are entirely out of my control.

I am posting this publicly because I have not received any meaningful help internally.

I am requesting that Rosebank College urgently intervene and resolve my academic issues without further delay.
