Repeated Registration Errors and Unfair Module Allocation
I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding the repeated issues I have experienced with my registration and module allocation.
I am currently expected to complete only one module this semester, while I have been informed that the other two modules will be carried over to next year when I am in my second year. I would like to understand why I am not being registered for my second-year modules this term while carrying the one outstanding module that I am currently expected to complete on its own.
I also want to ask whether it is genuinely considered fair for me to be expected to complete only one module for an entire semester when I am not even in my final year, particularly when the situation has resulted from repeated registration and administrative issues. I am concerned that this will unnecessarily delay my academic progress and extend the time it takes for me to complete my qualification.
This is also not the first time I have experienced problems with my registration.
Initially, I had two modules registered for the second semester. However, after I changed to online studies, I was accidentally re-registered for the mid-year intake. During this process, one of my modules disappeared from my registration, leaving me with only one module. I personally went to the Pretoria campus to have the matter corrected, and after doing so, my registration was restored and I was once again showing two modules.
However, last week, I received an SMS confirming that I had been successfully registered. When I subsequently checked my student portal, I discovered that one of my modules was missing yet again.
Note that I have only 3 modules to complete for first year not sure why am I not given an opportunity to complete them altogether this semester.
Yesterday, I followed up on this matter in an attempt to get clarity and have the issue resolved. Unfortunately, I was not given a valid or satisfactory response explaining why my module had disappeared again or why I am expected to complete only one module this semester. I am still left without clear answers regarding my registration and academic progression.
I am extremely frustrated by these repeated administrative errors. I have had to continuously follow up and even travel to campus personally to resolve issues that were not caused by me. Each time I believe the matter has been resolved, another registration problem occurs.
This is wasting my time and is now affecting my studies and academic progression. I should not have to repeatedly chase the institution to ensure that my modules are correctly registered, especially after receiving confirmation that my registration was successful.
I therefore request that Rosebank College urgently provide me with a clear explanation of:
* Which modules I am supposed to be registered for this semester; * Why one of my modules has disappeared from my portal again; * Why I am not being registered for my second-year modules while carrying the one outstanding module; * Whether there is a valid academic reason why I am being limited to only one module this semester; and * What Rosebank College intends to do to ensure that I am not unnecessarily delayed or academically disadvantaged because of these repeated registration errors.
I would appreciate this matter being treated as urgent and receiving a clear written response and resolution as soon as possible.
