Extremely rude security lady

I was still adjusting to the place and got lost , I asked the female security who was there for help and she was extremely rude. I explained my situation and she wasn’t having it.She angrily castigated me for not greeting the man I got off the elevator with and not asking him for directions, by the time I realised that I was lost, the man had already gone. Besides, isn’t the rule of thumb to ask the security for directions when lost instead of random people . We got in the elevator as a bunch of about 6 and no one greeted each other, so I don’t know why that was such a big deal . She went on to bxtch about how helping me was going to cost her Job. Surely, Is it a crime to lose your way and ask for help when you are new to a place? I was constantly apologising the whole time as if I committed a felony but her attitude was getting worse. I literally went to cry afterwards. I had only encountered male guards till now and literally every one of them was friendly and helpful. The lecturers and students are also very helpful. I will honestly have a panic attack if I ever encounter this rude woman again.
